Christien Meindertsma / Kvadrat – Pigeon Service – colour 726

Charismatic, witty & charming, these fabric pigeons ‘Pigeon Service’ are designed by Dutch designer Christien Meindertsma, that were originally made as a permanent installation for Texture. The pigeon’s design was inspired by the carrier pigeons used for espionage during World War I, many of which were captured and held in the building that is today the museum of flax in Kortrijk, Belgium.

Every bird is handmade of quality Kvadrat Canvas fabric and filled with linseed, that gives it it’s charismatic form and carries a small note for sending a secret message.

Give your Pigeon Service pigeon a home and place it on a shelf, a sideboard or windowsill and enjoy this beautiful Dutch design.
